Claire & Tony are made for each other! They are both down to earth, fun loving and incredibly hilarious when together…which their guests soon discovered just moments into the official part of their big day. I don’t think I have ever laughed as much as I did during their wedding ceremony at Saltmarshe Hall.

What a day!! From start to finish Claire, Tony and all their guests were amazing to photograph. A truly authentic and real autumnal wedding day
An emotional connection
Having the whole of Saltmarshe Hall to themselves really meant they could make it their wedding venue. I arrived just as the girls did to finish their getting ready stage. Claire’s beautiful wedding dress was actually her late mother’s, which she had altered by the incredibly talented Leading Ladies, and made for a beautiful and rather emotional connection, especially when her dad saw her in it for the first time. Tony and the guys all arrived in good time to meet the guests and really looked the part in aqua blue tweed suits. Tony’s sister was also one of Claire’s bridesmaids, so once the guys arrived she had a quick sneaky run downstairs to give her brother a big good luck hug before heading back up for the final bridal party preps.
The ceremony started perfectly, but just as the words “does anyone here present know any reason why…”, a deafening clatter was heard from the back of the room as a guest accidently knocked over the videographers tripod. Needless to say everybody, especially Claire & Tony, saw the funny side and luckily no camera equipment was hurt in the process. The laughs didn’t stop there though as some warm fingers prevented rings for being exchanged and Tony even called Claire Daniel at one point! The fact that the pair of them burst into laughter was just even more concrete proof that these two beautiful people are destined to be together!
After some family group photos and a mildly damp cocktail hour, we managed to head into the beautiful gardens around Saltmarshe Hall for some relaxed and natural portraits. With the autumn colours fully on display, I have to admit that Claire & Tony’s wedding portraits are some of my favourite ever and their choice of stunning wedding outfits really sing against the golden orange hues.
Once the speeches and party got started, the laughter just continued even more. The brilliant Michael Mulholland was their evening entertainment, singing and playing his acoustic guitar to a personalised and curated list of Claire & Tony’s favourite songs. Before the party died down, I managed to grab 2 minutes with Claire & Tony for a couple of night time portraits, to really give them something unique.
Claire & Tony, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for putting your trust in me and asking me to be your wedding photographer. I loved every second and would gladly do it all again in a heartbeat! You are both so fun, vibrant and full of life and I wish you all the best with your future together.
An Idyllic Yorkshire Wedding Venue - Saltmarshe Hall
Saltmarshe Hall was the perfect backdrop for Claire & Tony’s wedding. Located in East Yorkshire, just outside Howden and Goole, it’s ideal for those with family’s traveling from afar as it hosts many rooms for guests to stay over in. It’s grand exterior and luxury interior offer ample opportunities for wedding guests to relax and enjoy the day and having exclusive use of the building meant we were free to explore its lovely intricacies and details. It’s stunning gardens are designed with weddings in mind and offer ample opportunities for stunning wedding portraits. The staff are simply superb and I will gladly take every opportunity I get to photograph a Saltmarshe Hall Wedding.
