Manchester Town Hall Wedding Photography
I met Emma and Paul early last year when I shot Gemma & Jason’s wedding at the stunning Abbey House Hotel in Barrow. Emma was a bridesmaid for Gemma and at the end of the day, after having nonstop laughs, she asked if I’d be interested in shooting her wedding. Fast forward 18 months and here we are…and what a wedding it was!!
There was so much detail and thought that went into every aspect of this wedding. I know from the many emails and messages me and Emma have had that there wasn’t a minute that went by without her thinking about how to make this wedding perfect.
The morning started nice and early at the DoubleTree Hilton hotel in Manchester where Emma and her 12 Bridesmaids (yes 12!!!) all got ready. Even though it may have been a little bit of a squeeze at times, it was one of the most relaxed morning preparations I’ve shot and I think that’s mainly down to the team from Glamour Hair & Makeup keeping Emma and her girls nice and calm and making their morning effortless. It was also great to work alongside my good friend Brad from Bailey Wedding Films who highlight video will no doubt be online very soon.
Over in Oldham my right-hand man for the day, Ben Clarke, joined Paul and the guys as they donned their ties and jackets and jumped on a classic double-decker bus to head to the ceremony venue, Manchester Town Hall.
The town hall its self is one of the most important grade one listed buildings in the UK and its Neo-Gothic architecture is simply exquisite. Pair this with the incredible floral arrangement by Poppy Clouds and the ceremony room was simply breathtaking. Cue an emotional ceremony with tears from both the bride and groom before heading onto the grand staircase for an epic group shot and some stunning portraits.
On to our final destination for the day, Bowdon Rugby club’s Marquee room where again Emma’s planning had excelled. There were more incredible arrangements by Poppy Clouds on every table, mini tipi’s for the children to play in, afternoon tea, singing waiters, a rodeo bull and bouncy castle, BBQ and fireworks to end the show…WOW!! But above all, it was a day filled with family and friends and love!!
